Victory Spotlight:
Nurse Jasmine Gives Back with Heart & Healing
When Nurse Jasmine Gonzalez noticed a growing number of elderly neighbors missing appointments at her local clinic, she didn’t just take note; she took action. On her days off, Jasmine started a free “Neighbor Nurse Check-In” program, offering rides to appointments, blood pressure checks, medication reminders, and wellness visits to seniors in her community. Armed with a stethoscope, a warm smile, and a folding chair, she’s become a lifeline for over 30 homebound residents.
“I became a nurse to make a difference,” Jasmine says. “Turns out, you don’t need a hospital to heal; you just need heart.”
What started as a small gesture has grown into a grassroots movement. Local businesses now sponsor supplies, and Jasmine is training other nurses to start similar efforts in nearby towns.
